The only way to migrate your old data is to export all the data to a Gedcom file. Load version 4.0, delete old database(s). Make new one and import your Gedcom file. Its gives no exact the same structure, but no data should be lost.
  3. Lot of small improvements and bug fixes.

  1. The new in version 2.96 is significant simplification of the installation and updating procedures.
But there is a disadvantage; direct updating from older versions is not supported.

Genesis various part are installed via one program now. The same setup program downloads all parts of Genesis and auxiliary files of your choice.

Version 2.84

What's new?

  1. Support for images in the info text.
  2. Support to include a link to own Google map, into person's record.
  3. Image of text document shows as link, not as miniature picture.
  4. Easier way to show connections between two people.

coonection buttons This feature concerns behavior of dynamic html pages not Silverback so let explain it here:
the buttons [Ancestor with ...] and [Shortest path ...] shows relation between two people in the database. One of them is always current person. The second one is initially the first person in your session, but can be lock (pin) to other person by pushing "pin" button: pin button. (From labels on the buttons on the right one can deduce that we are now on Karol page and the "reference" person is Kriss. Clicking on the [Shortest path Kriss] button gives connection between Karol and Kriss. Clicking on the "pin" button makes Karol the new reference person.)

Version 2.83

What's new?

Silverback - error in connection to database after the backup action - fixed.

Version 2.82

What's new?

Silverback: new country code for places. You may write two letters country code (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1_alpha-2). This code is shown in the parenthesis behind the place name, but only if country code differs from actual language-country, e.g. "US" don't shows when you use "en-US" culture.
